Local Economy

The wind farm attracted visitors to the local area, making it a tourist destination from the city of Beijing. Increased visiting traffic is bolstering the local service and restaurant industries.

Local Employment

The wind farm hired twenty permanent employees from the local area.

Infrastructure

A new road was constructed during the project development.  

Local Environment

This project provided 20% of the energy consumed by the Beijing 2008 Olympics, roughly the amount of energy consumed by the Bird’s Nest throughout the games. Additionally, the project reduced pollution in the suburb outside of Beijing in which it was built.
